Joshua Weil, BSc

Head Agronomist

Joshua has unmatched international experience in rural and agricultural development. He is a specialist in crossing modern technologies with knowledge-based production systems. Joshua brings a valuable macro perspective on rural planning in varying geographies and climates, as well the importance of agriculture in a country’s master ecosystem. He also has particular expertise in crop irrigation, water conservation and defining crop water demands.

Accomplishments

During the past 15 years alone, he has worked on more than 65 initiatives in 43 countries. Prior this time, he contributed his expertise to the Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture. Among the projects he has recently completed across the globe, Joshua has developed a plan for regional development in Western Province, Papua New Guinea. He also succeeded in raising operational efficiency and profit in deciduous plantations in the Golan Heights in northern Israel. Joshua has helped implement irrigation solutions and technologies to boost potato-growing in Russia and designed a rural development initiative in Malawi.

Joshua’s market analysis is also highly valued throughout the world. His consultation has been sought extensively, including evaluations and surveys on sugar cane in Colombia, grain and vegetable production in Angola and high value vegetable production in the Maldives Islands. Much of his research has culminated in writing full, bankable business plans.


Education

Joshua has studied in both Israel and the United States. He holds a BSc in agriculture from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
